THE PAMLO YOUTH CONFERENCE ON EDUCATION, BUSINESS AND LIFE SKILLS

This conference aims to initiate interactions among participants that will foster dialogues geared towards improving the communication and argumentative skills of the participants. These discussions will be mainly academic but also containing hints of social and political matters that pertain to the region or country at that moment in time. Business and life skills will be a central theme of the event.
- Speakers will tackle issues related with entrepreneurship skills, investment opportunities within and without Teso district, Sources of capital for business start-up, Savings, NSSF, NHIF, Partnerships, Investment groups, Insurance and other related issues.
- Recreation, Personal hygiene, family and relationships, Drug abuse and addiction, HIV Aids issues-ABC rule and VCT`s , and impact of voluntary services in the society and country at large.
- There will be speakers, mainly students, but also older and wiser people from the job industry. PAMLO sponsors present will also be allowed to speak There will be several activities and small group discussions planned alongside the talks.
- The workshops will feature current university students as well as adult role models from the community who will speak on leadership and responsibilities to ones neighbors, community and country..
- There will be information booths where information on Education, Business and Life skills will be displayed.
- The workshops will also have booths of information about different colleges, polytechnics, and universities in Kenya, and the different careers that students can get into. Also included will be information on Higher Education Loans Board -HELB. Joint Admission Board- JAB, PAMLO-JKUAT scholarships, Trust funds available, and other governmental and non- governmental scholarships and also about Grants available.
